RCG worked closely with the client to deliver road safety improvements on a section of road from the entrance to Mareeba along two sections of 1.5kms east towards Kuranda. 

The road safety improvements include pavement widening and implementation of wide centreline treatment (WCLT) and guardrail; pavement construction and bitumen surfacing of Barron River Rest Area, including installation of lighting; upgrade at Kennedy Highway / Mareeba Connection Road intersection to T- Intersection, including installation of lighting; upgrade at Kennedy Highway / Mareeba Connection Road intersection to include auxiliary left turn lane, merge lane and installation of lighting; and installation of township entry treatment along Kennedy Highway, including supply and installation of standalone solar vehicle activated signs.
